Windflower Gardens is a fine landscape gardening business based in Little Compton, RI and led by Jade Donaldson, a horticulturist with over a decade of professional experience tending gardens on the south coast of RI and MA. She is also a formally trained artist and an alumna of the Brown-RISD Dual Degree Program, holding a B.F.A. in Illustration and a B.A. in Modern Culture and Media.

Jade embraces the path of the lifelong learner, and she continually engages in self-directed study in the fields of horticulture, design, botany and ecological restoration. Alongside her valued crew of fine gardeners, she takes pride in cultivating landscapes that thrive, providing care that draws upon the best horticultural practices of the moment. Prioritizing naturalistic beauty in tandem with functional ecological resilience, her garden designs draw upon a diverse palette of native shrub, tree and perennial selections which support local ecosystems while maximizing visual aesthetics and sensorial delight. Her artistic training along with her finely tuned eye for detail are integral to her garden design and maintenance offerings. She understands that gardens are deeply personal spaces, and she welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with clients in creating outdoor environments that reflect their unique lifestyles and tastes.
